Bucket List: 52. Get Neil Gaiman’s autograph in on of my Sandman comics

I never thought I would get to do things on the bucket list, but I got to do one last night: I meet Neil Gaiman!

First we sat though a talk with Tom Stoppard…. He is a famous play write, one famous movie he wrote was Shakespeare in love. He was very interesting to listen to, and lived a very interesting life.

So, while we waiting to go back in to listen to Neil Gaiman, Amanda (his wife) jump up on the bar and started to play her ukulele and sing to us. She was great and so much fun to listen too…

We got to listen to Neil and about his books he has written and his life as a writer. Its amazing to hear that he went into all sorts of different fields of writing, and how much he enjoyed writing them all (except for Dr Who! (but later on enjoyed it))

Afterwards, I went and got his Autograph, in my Sandman Comics!

My Bucket List.

It’s my 500 post, and have been posting for 2 years.

Most of my post have been about nerdy things I found and like, there have been some of the movies I went to see or how things are going in my life.

I am almost 30 (got 2 more years up my sleeve), but it seems that when you get to that age you need to start creating a Bucket List.

A Bucket List (just in case there are people out there who don’t know) is a list of things you want to do before you die. It can be as many things as you want, most people normally try to aim for 100 things.

Here is my 100 things I want to do before I die (Michelle’s Bucket List)

1. ~~Going to see Grolliaz in concert in Melbourne~~

2. Go To Comic Con

3. Travel to places I wouldn’t never find myself in. For Example South Africa, or South America, India

4. Move and live overseas for a few years

5. Be on the Amazing Race – will be the nerds of the show.

6. Eat strange and exotic foods

7. Sneak in to Cambridge Uni and seat in on, (only if he is still to doing it,) a Stephen Hawking lecture.

8. Watch Torchwood from start to finish without anyone interrupting me.

9. Get in to a Roller Derby League.

10. Get one of my books, that I have written published.

11. Go to Texas to see a Roller Derby game, and scream on the top of my lungs, and wake up the next morning with no voice.

12. Go to Japan, and do a tea ceremony and Manga festival

13. Have a big cook up with friends and family.

14. Run my own comic book store.

15. Build my own mini observatory in my backyard.

16. Stay in an expensive hotel and get pampered.

17. Finish watching all the movies in my book ’1001 Movies You Must Watch Before You Die’

18. Go to a Robot Wars match

19. Go into one of those big balls and go down the hill in New Zealand. ( I heard that coming out of the ball is like being born again!)

20. Teach overseas

21. Buy my first car – lets hope its an old vintage car (in black and purple vinyl)

22. Be a voice over for someone in a cartoon show

23. Fly first class

24. Zero Gravity Flight

25. Get a Tattoo (or 2)

26. Learn French

27. Try stand-up comedy

28. Find out where I come from (family history)

29. Learn to play the Banjo

30. Join a Barber Shop Quartet.

31. Go to a Blues Bar in Chicago

32. Swim with the sharks

33. Go to Antarctica and dance with the penguins

34. Spent the a night on the train travelling to one country to another.

35. Go to Lego Land

36. Ride a Camel

37. Go on Safari

38. Go shopping in New York, LA and London

39. Go to the Louvre

40. Go to Canada to see a Moose

41. Live in the States and go and visit all the places I want to see

42. TOMATO FIGHT

43. Learn more about Astronomy

44. Learn glass blowing

45. Learn to brew beer

46. Re-learn to Knit

47. Make a list of 100 books I want to read, and try to read them all.

48. Become an extra in a movie or a TV show.

49. Kick my bad habit of eating too much sweets

50. Meet Bill Gates, and tell him we share the same birthday

51. Get a Hug from Stan Lee, and let him know that Xmen help me overcome my fears and differences in High School

53. Meet Allan Moore.

54. Learn to save money

55. Fly on a private jet

56. Spend a week living on a boat

57. Have a child and discover what its like to be a mum

58. Go on a second Honeymoon.

59. Get that ginger cat and name him Ninja

60. Buy my dream home, nice and big!

61. Receive a blessing from the pope

62. Donate Blood

63. Become someone Mentor, and teach them all about life.

64. Work on a film, that I keep putting off.

65. Go to a Baseball game

66. Go To LA Lakers game

67. Go to a Greek, Spanish and Jewish wedding

68. Travel somewhere fun with my sister

69. Write a Journal every day for a year.

70. To do something good for someone else each day for a year, and to get good karma.

71. Write a Musical. (learn how to write one first)

72. Gain my experience to able to teach at a University level

73. Get fit

74. Learn to find inner peace with myself

75. Feed a giraffe and get lick by one.

76. Throw a pair of shoes on to a telephone wire, or even into a tree

77. Go to the Gum Wall in Seattle and add a piece to it!

78. Join in on the world’s biggest pillow fight

79. Stand up to the bullies from my high school and show them that my life turn out to be better than theirs

80. Throw a party in Cheryl’s room ( when she goes on holidays)

81. Snuggle in a hammock

82. Learn to hula-hoop and hold it for a while

83. Smoke weed in a coffee shop in Amsterdam

84. Buy a bottle of expensive wine and share it with friends, but never tell them it’s expensive.

85. Meet someone who has the same name as me and see how different or the same our life is

86. Walk the crossing at Abby Road

87. Teach my grandkids how to swear

88. Try an attend as many old school rock concerts with my dad

89. Go and see the Northern Lights

90. See a wrestling match

91. Go to the circus

92. Start a water fight

93. Use a shot-gun

94. Get to blow something up

95. Recreate on of my favourite movie sence with my loved ones and friends

96. Become friends (close friends) with a celebrity, but what them to like me for who I am, and love my Aussie accent.

97. Have a pen pal from overseas, and write to them the old school way, with pens and paper.

98. For one day, do all the things I use to do as a kid, like rolling down a hill, picking flowers, lying in the tall grass playing Pokemon.

99. Do what my mother said, ‘color in a coloring book and keep in the lines’

100. Pay it forward….. you have read my Bucket List and I want to see you do the same. I want to see 100 replies to this blog for people’s own bucket list.

I will keep blogging and post on to my blog of all the things I have done from my list.

This is one of the first business card that I created. A friend of mine has created her own business in selling beauty product. She asked me to create a business cards with leopard pint and hot pink. In under an hour and using Illustrator I created this. I am a little proud of this work, because she was very, vey happy with the design and out come.

This is Justin and Me on our first date. Well, sort of….. this is really our 4th date.

We went to Science Works and then a trip to Williamstown. Justin second love is his camera, and was taking loads of pics.

This really was our second date to the Aquarium, where I learnt that justin can’t read a map and can’t stand still.

I don’t know what date number this was, but it was 3 months into the realtionship, and the I meet his mother. We went to the Art Gallery.

And we went to the zoo.

And this was our first Christmas, which my sister wouldn’t let me open any christmas present until she got there. (BTW that was 8pm)

We went to many parties together,…..

….. and start to drink and drink…..

….seriously, who took this one?

After 18 month we got engaged!

Then another 18 month later, we got married……

……and so did most of our friends…..

On this day 4 years ago we meet, we learned, and we became a happy couple!

HAPPY 4 YEARS TOGETHER!!!

Today we went into Melbourne and discovered that ther is a new comic book that just open up.

All Stars Comic Books

This is a very cute comic book store, it’s not very big but they did only open in Feb this year. They have wall to wall of comic books and started to bring in vintage toys collectors and comic books to sell and buy.

Since the lunch in Feb, All Stars have had great reviews:

They are located on level 1, 410 Lonsdale street, melbourne.

The interesting thing about this store that on the outside it looks like apartments, but when you go in and go up to level 1 it’s there.

Once you got your comic books, go across the road for a pizza and beer at Niagra Bar, or as one of our friends calls it Viagra Bar. (Good Pizza and Good Price!)

DVD Review: coupling

Coupling is about a guy and his best friend and his ex and an girl with her best friend and her ex, and they all become friends. It is also about how a relationship starts and ends and all the fun stuff in the middle. There is only 4 seasons to the series and the last season all about marriage and having babies.

This show is funny in the sense of how it is filmed. Its not a strage sic com, they also show different sides of each story, and put yourself in the shoes of the viewer. The way it is also written, with the jokes and relationship rules. More or less its british answer to how i met your mother, but was made 5 years before it.

I do recommend it to watch, and you be laughing soon.

I’m back…..

And what a month I have had.

Let’s start at the begining…..

I got a new job working as an eLearning Designer. I thought it was great and was having fun in the company until a couple days ago when the boss fires me becuase she think I am not fitting in the company! What a joke!

The next big thing that happen was, we had to move house. Our LandLord came over and told us we had to get out ASAP, becuase we want to live there now. So we packed up amd moved closer to the city. We have been here now for 2 weeks and it doesn’t feel like it’s our home. Oh well, ask agin at the end of the year.

We also had Christmas and new year, which was good fun.

Let’s see how this year going to hold for us!

DVD Review: V the Original Series

finished watching the original series of V. This is a really good series, complete with 80′s style of special effects.

It is all about an Alien race come to earth and pretends to be friends with the humans, but they are there for more. A leak into the media leads all scientist to be band or killed, so most go into hiding.

It’s a good series to watch.

I found this show but accident a few years ago.

Harvey Birdman: attorney at Law is a cartoon series done by Hanna-Barra, those guys who did The Flintstones and others.

Harvey Birdman was an old cartoon series, which was called Birdman, which I am still watching.

The show is about Harvey Birdman and his court cases using old Hanna-Barra cartoon characters, and creating new characters.

DVD Review: Futurama seasons 1-4

Futurama would have to be one of my favourite cartoon shows.

I remember when it came out in 2000 (it did in Australia), and watch it every night. At the time I was working in a pizza place myself and lost my job from watching too much Futurama.

For those who never seen the series, (which means you have been living in a cave!) it is about a guy named Fry living in New York City and was working as a Pizza Delivery Boy. He was a bit of a loser. When he went on a fake delivery, he accidentally freezes himself. When unfreeze he was waken to the year 3000. He meets Leela, Bender, and others.

The show is very clever with the humor, and it feel of 1950′s future feel to it as well.

If you like The Simpsons, then of course you are going to like futurama.

I heard that Futurama is now on Comdey Central….. with new episodes. We haven’t got it yet in Australia, but I have heard some many good stories about the new seasons.

If you like Jackass, and basic TV shows, or watching 2 best friends turn into worst enemies, Then you need to start watching Kenny vs Spenny.

Set in Canada, its about 2 best friends/room mates who do competitions between each other. One likes to cheat and the other wants thing played by the rules. Who ever wins gets to pick ahumiliation for the loser, and these can be funnier than the competition.

DVD Review: South Park season 10

Finished watching south season 10, for some reason I have been watching south park backwards.

This season was good, it has the world of warcraft episode, and hell on earth, which this episode was banned in Australia for a while, then fans asked for it.

There is alot of 2 parters episodes, like the frozen in time, and the family guy episode.

This was good season, not my favourire season but it was good

I do like going out on weekends.

We went to Sceince Works again. There really was nothing going on there this time, but we got to go to the Thunder Room, which is one big room that create a thunder show, and went back to the Planetarium, there was no Pluto but a bunch of smart ass kids!

DVD Review: District 9

I was surprised with this film.

I wasn’t really into this film when it first came out, Justin bought it over one night and made me watch it, and to my surprise it was really good.

The movie is about aliens who landed in Johannesburg in 1982. No one why they are there, or what they want, for 20 odd years, they left them in the slums. Wikus get promoted to the head of the relocation, and goes to the District 9 to relocated the “pawns” to District 10 which is cleaner and gives them houses.

As Wikus goes around trying to get the pawns to move, he discovers a capsule, which get him into trouble.

This movie has half moc-doc and film, but it’s not confusing and easy to follow.

DVD Review: Avatar

Why did James Cameron name it Avatar?

that always puzzled me.

Avatar is one of the great movies I have on dvd. I really enjoyed the movie, but only got the basic dvd version, becuase it was cheap!

This movie is about a planet call Pandora, where the RDA Corporation is mining for unobtanium. The planet is inhabited with a race called Na’vi, whci are 10 foot tall blue people with strange ponytails.

Corporal Jake Sully was offered a job on Pandora after his brother was killed in action, because they both have the same DNA (well dar!) He meet with Dr. Grace Augustine, who was studying the Na’vi people and believed the RDA mining was hurting them. Jake Sully became one of the Na’vi who learns their ways of life. Jake finds himself fighting for the Na’vi’s to save thier home and planet.

The effect in this films are amazing, it show we have come long way with effects. This movie does have a feel good and make you think abit about our own world.

Old movie!

My mum loves this film, for some reason, but this one is a classic.

basic on Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew”, it is about 2 sisters who arent allow to date. When one sister decides to pay the school’s outcast to date her sister so she can go out to the prom. She never thought her sister would fall inlove with the school’s outcast.

this movie also brought out Heath Ledgar, who was the school’s outcast.

I enjoy watching this film each time I watch it. It’s not in my favourite list, but is one of those feel good movies to just put on.

DVD Review: 4400 season 1

I remember this show on tv, but in 2004. at the time the network that show it made a “big deal” of the show. the first episode was a movie length which sucks you in on what and why these 4400 people are here.
This show is about 4400 people who was abducted by a beam of light from the period of 1949 to 2001. then they were all brough back in 2004 with no memory or none have aged. As you watch they discover that these 4400 people have special gives. Some are good and some are bad.

The 4400 spend most of the time trying to find out why they are here, and why they have these special gives.

Watch out for the little girl in it, she very creepy.

Towards end of season one, this was reveals that the 4400 were abducted by aliens, as much of them thought they were, but were taken by people from the future in order to save the future.

The show only lasted on Australian tv for 2 seasons, and was taken off air. According to Wiki, there was 5 seasons, but season was never made due to writers strikes.

I only have season 1 on dvd, becuase I like season 1 and found season 2 to be a bit of a bore.

DVD Review: Red Dwarf season 1-4

I grew up on Red Dwarf, and loved it as a kid.

For my birthday I got season 1-4. Now, as an adult, i do get the jokes and still enjoy it.

For people never heard of the show, (you have to see!) it is a science fiction comdey. You have you main character Dave Lister who was the bottom of the ranks on the mining ship Red Dwarf. He get place into STATIS due to bring on borad a pet cat who is pregant.

While in STATIS, his best friend/worst enemy Rimmer didnt fix a drive plate correctly and ending killing the whole crew of the ship from a radiation leak. Therefore Lister, who was suppose to be in STATIS for 18 months, end up in there for 3 million years.

When Lister came out, he found a hologram version of Rimmer, and found a human who was evolved from his pet cat.

They spend time on the ship trying to get back home to Earth.

Alot of the episodes are about them and thier life on the ship, Oh, and most of the time they can’t get along.

The show is very clever written, and some of the episodes do make you think at times. They made so far season 1-9, and it is British as well.

My favourite episode so far would be better than life, and Queeg (which was the name of my pet bird)

DVD Review: Freakazoid

Justin and I went out one weekend to Melbourne, in hunting for a new comic book store. As we hunt we found a dvd store, Play Music Games Dvds. This store was amazing, it had dvds that other dvd stores don’t sell.

I manage to pick up a few dvds, one of them was Freakazoid!

As a kid, I love watching WB cartoons on a saturday morning, there was Batman, Animaniacs, Pinky and Brain (even they were on Animaniacs) Tiny Toons, and Freakazoid. Most of these cartoons took over my childhood (and now adulthood)

There was an issue with this dvd, I am from Australia and that mean I am region 4, the dvd is region 1….. at this point I would like to thank God for my Xbox, becuase it plays all regions!

This dvd was fun to watch and brought back so many memories like:

I like Freakazoid, I have really enjoyed it and remembering alot from my childhood.

I recommend you to go and watch Freakazoid again!

And go and find the store, it doesn’t sell just dvds, also games and music.

This movie is all about how facebook started, where the idea came from and the lawsuits that followed it.

It was a very interesting film, if you know the story behind how facebook started and he lawsuits, the movie is very different to it.

But it is worth going to see

Thailand Trip: Bangkok part 1

I am home from 2 weeks in Thailand, here is my trip:

Monday 20^th September

We have finally arrived at 5am. And customs was a bitch of getting in, not the fact it was going though our stuff, which by the way they didn’t, it was old person stamping us in.

After stamped in, we found our bags in the middle of nowhere and unattended, lucky there was nothing in there to stop us from coming in.

We got to our hotel and meet our tour guide, he is very cheeky. We got up to our room, where the bed was covered in rose petals, which are now all over the floor. As we open our widow we could see a beautiful view of Bangkok, and we looked down out the widow, we saw school kids doing the morning exercises before class, so therefore there is a school underneath us.

Justin and I were jet lagged so we had a bit of a snooze, and woke up with rose pedals all over us, we didn’t realize that Thailand is 3 hours behind, so we were thinking it’s about 1:30 and getting for lunch, it was 10:30….. Great the breakfast menu at Macca’s had finished for the day.

We decided to go for a walk in to town, to find the local Macca’s, and yes we meet the greeting Ronald. We looked at the menu; they sold ice tea, which was very hard to explain to the counter that we want ice tea. I went for a big Mac medium, which over is like a large, and Justin had a samurai pork burger in medium too, lucky we got those because we didn’t finish them.

I didn’t want to go back to the hotel, so we went shopping….. sort of! We looked in a super market and so of the locals we laughing at us because we were shocked over some of the food we found there, including a pink nipple cream which pinking your nipples.

Once finished there we went to another shopping centre and tried our barging skills, we are getting there, I paid 360 for a bracelet which she was asking for 499, and got a pair of shoes for Justin which were 175, but we asked for 150 instead.

Justin got tired so we walked back to the hotel, as we were walking back, lots of the locals keep stopping us and asking us do want to go here, I keep saying NO, we are going home!

No soon we got back into the hotel, a thunder storm, had gone over.

Tuesday 21^st September

First tour for the trip, and went to see the temples. We went to 3 of them. It was very hot when we went, drinking heaps of water. The temples we big and colourful, but mostly made from gold. It cost 1,000,000 bhart to keep replacing the gold in the temples. The tour guide show us around Bangkok as we went to the temples, he told us that gold is only for rich people, because they were good in their past lives, and being good in your past life makes you handsome as well, so I said that’s why Justin was bad in his pasted life at one point. The tour guide also said that if you been bad in your next life you become a dog, and if your bad in that life, then a cat, bad in that one, then a worm. So always be good!

One temple we went to, we got our fortune told. We got a round box with lots of sticks inside, we had to shake it until one stick fell out. That would have a number on it, then we got a piece of paper with a fortune on it. Justin kept stuffing it up, but got there in the end. We got to see the reclining Buddha, we got a bowl full of coins, we had to place a coin in each bowl, we were told that the bowls will help feed the poor.

After our tour of the temples, we went to the world biggest jewellery store, where I got new earrings and necklace for 4,500 baht which is 104 Australian. She gave us a honeymoon discount, (too cute).

After that we went to the world best tailor, which Justin got fitted for 2 pants and 3 shirts. The sales made called king which stand for ‘king of the tailors!’ really looked after Justin, Justin got free beer and was allow to walk the streets with it in hand. Which was surprising us that they sell beer and alcohol in 7-11 stores, we got told, that between 3 in the afternoon and 5 is call beer free time…. not that the beer is free, its just you aren’t allow to sell or drink the beer at the time.

We went to a tour by night. We got to go to the flower markets, and Justin gave some roses, which we tried to explain to the guide, that when a guy give flowers to his girl it means they did something bad!

We also went to a night market, were Justin learn to yell no at tailors. I got new sunglasses and new thongs. Justin got new lights.

Wednesday 22^nd of September

Today was a free day, so Justin and I decided to go and do some more shopping. We got on a tuk tuk, and that was a mistake, they took us to place we didn’t want to go, in the end I told him off and he dumped us at BK which is a big shopping centre. We got a new camera for 5,500 bhart. And had lunch at cafe, had a full body massage, they did my feet and I almost cried…. they touch my feet. Justin loved the massage. It was 300 bhart, then the massager notice my feet and told me to sit down. I got a pedicure, which drove me nuts, again touching my feet, but my toes look good, with purple.

We went to a ladyboy show, were Justin and I played post or pre op…. I saw more camel toes than stuff sausages in the show. The show itself was great, but short. We got to chat with them after the show.

I have been thinking for a while now to get a cat.

I use to have one or two i think maybe threee when i was very little, but mum hates cats.

But need to think about what type of a cat I should get….

I dont want a big fluffy cat, too much hair and they will stick to you in the summertime….

maybe it is best to get a kitten first, if I get a ginger one, have call him Ninja!

But if we get one with a mustache, we will call him Mev, or Chopper….

Last night Justin and I went and saw

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World!

This movie was GREAT!!!

It is about a boy who falls in love with a girl, but she has a shady past with 7 evil ex’s (not all are boys!)

scott has to defeate them all to win her heart.

If you love video games, comic books, and teenage dramas, this is a movie you must see!

I always wanted to be a comic book artist, but it started out more as I wanted to be an animator.

I studied in animations in 3D and 2D, but really like the drawing side of it. I do continue to draw with some really good design and some design with a capton ‘what the hell was I on!’

This is a redone of an old joke I once had with a friend. I lost my job and boyfriend at the same time as I was re-building my resume with her, I cried to her that i was single alone and pathetic, she respond back with, not good enough personal skills!

Robot: This was the front cover for Justin’s Birthday Party invites. I do like this one for some reason.

My Playboy Bunny, this was picture in my head differently, alot people like her, but I don’t becuase the hands look odd.

This is one of the pages of an comic book I was doing for a mate, this one is my favourite page, I just like the kid in this. I never finished it off.

This is a first drawing of him. Didn’t turn out too bad!

This is Anna, she a charachter from one of my childern’s books I wrote. Never got it publish.

Easter was around the corner when he was made…. I draw him up to freak out the nieghbours kids. It did work!

I am my own worst critic becuase I really dont think my work up to standards!

I will be adding more thoughout my life.

Today went out with my sister to see the Tim Burton: The Exhibition.

Movie Review: Toy Story 3

Last night Justin and I went to see the movie Toy Story 3 in 3D.

This was a great movie to end the series, you get to see more Andy and some of the kids. The little girl in the movie was so cute.

There was a good story, and as tipical the toys believe that Andydoesn’t love them. There are a few less toys, but our favourites where still in there.

They end up in daycare, and people with small kids will know what daycare toys end up like.

I love it, but do take the tissues, at the end of the movie it gets really sad.

For the last couple of weeks I have been playing with Pokemon Pearl on my DS.

I remember, when Pokemon first was huge and had the Pokemon Yellow and Blue and a friend had Red.

My sister was a bigger fan of pokemon than I was. I told her how I have gotten back into it with Pearl, so she went out and got Diamond.

She only had it for a couple days and has already gotten further than me! Hate her for that.

Here Are 2 Dinosaurs You Need To Explain To Your Kids!

I found on the internet 2 dinosaurs that you may need to explain to your kids, or better your nan!

A realtive to a Stegosaurs.

Tsintaosaurus was a duck-billed dinosaur, or Hadrosaur, that lived in China about 84 to 71 million years ago. Like many Lambeosaurs, Tsintaosaurus is believed to have sported a fancy crest on its head. In this case, the crest is a skinny rod that stuck out above of the dinosaur’s face much like a mythical unicorn’s horn. A while back it was believed that this crest is actually just a piece of the animal’s top jaw that had broken and become bent upwards. Then another specimen was found with the exact same feature, thus leading most people once again to believe that this animal indeed sported a unicorn crest.

In other words: this dinosaurs has a penis on his head!

In Australia we get a home buyer grant from the government. It great that they pay us money to get a house, so Justin and i are decding to build our own house.

Review: Prince of Persia

Went to see Prince of Persia on saturday night, and have to admit, it wasn’t a bad flim.

The movie had a storyline, but what i remember of the game it didnt. But the characters were same as the game. The effects and storyline in this film was really good, I didnt find this movie boring and over flashy. It was really good film, I was even exicted becuase it has Jeff from Coupling in it too.

I recomend this film, but cant see a sequal out of it.

DVD Review: SkitHOUSE!

Back in 2003, Australian was bombarded with Sketch Comdey shows. There was Big Bite ( which was very funny) Comdey Inc ( which was very boring, and last was SkitHOUSE. I love this setch series, it went for 3 years.

A couple years ago they brought out a best of DVD. It wasnt in stores for very long, and I have been hunting it down for a while to show Justin some of the crazy things that my sister and I do.

We watch it last night, and was dispointed in this DVD, there was only 2 episodes, and few Tripod songs. The miss out on some of the funniest bits like, the classic guys, few of the funniest tripos songs, and some others.

It was and OK DVD, but shouldn’t get my hopes up again!

Book Review: A Left Handed History Of The World.

I am a left hander, proud of it!

And have found it hard growing up being Left Handed, I was always seemed to be an odd ball child, and saw the world differently.

I found this book, last Christmas in Canberra, and thought I should get it. I open my eyes to the world of left handers.

This shows how the world changed with a little help from left handers. It was interesting to read about how lot of the left handers are very slimar to each other.

The book has a list on each person in the book;

Intuitive: is basically thinking out the box. Not thinking in straight line, and thinking more about thier situation.

Empathetic: left handers listen, and pull themselves in other people shoes.

Visual-Spatial Ability: left handed people can use both right and left side of the brain, and have execellent problem-sloving skills

Lateral Thinking: left handers see both sides of the story and weight it up. they look at the good and bad side of things and then decide which way to go.

Hot-Tempered: alot of left hander DO have a temper, it is mostly becuase others don’t see things their way, or thing aren’t going their way. they can be childish tempers to yelling and screaming! (I have seen it in myself at times too!)

Solitary: alot of left handers like to be left alone with thier thoughts and ideas while thier work. some left handers so find it difficult to soical with other people.

Iconclastic: left hander like doing things thier own way.

Self-Taught: alot of left handers are slow learners, and most of them in the book failed school, but they either re-teach themself or they teach themselves in thier own time, they become experts in their chosen field.

Experimental: left handers like the ‘what if…?’ approch. Most dont like following the rules and rather jump in and do it instead of reading the rules.

Fantasist: very creative people, and create their own world’s!

This book was a great read, and made me realize that I am not the only left hander in the world, and I am not the only strange child growing up, and my ideas and creative-ness can change the world one day! World Domination here I come!

World Record Attempt: How Many Superheroes In The One Spot.

On the 29th of May, Melbourne went for the record of how many superheoes in the one spot. Justin and I went to it and had a blast of a time.

We bet the record, Melbourne got 1,245 people turning up, everyone was dressed up, and if you didnt have a costume, they gave you one. There was so many kids, and they all look great in their Batmans and Supermans. It was fun and interesting morning, I couldnt get over how many people wanted our photos.

Let’s hope no one bets Melbourne’s record!

Happy Geek Pride Day!

Now this is a holiday that I can be proud of….

How to celebrate this holiday is to be a geek. If you don’t know how to be one, here is a list of ideas you can do:

Find your local comic book store, and find a comic book that opens your eyes. Find a comic book, that you will love to read. Some of my favourite comic books would be Batman, Sandman, The Spirit, Transmetropolitan, Green Lantian, Superman, Wonder Woman, and even Xmen. If want something that take a little longer than 5 mins to read, then get V for Vandentta, Watchmen, Sin City, but if you want Manga, Mega Toyko, or you dont want to leave the house try Cad-comics (http://www.cad-comic.com) These are most of the comic books in my house!

Go to you local video/dvd store – science ficton moives are great! Have a sicence fiction marathon. Some of my favourites will be; Aeon Flux, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, Robocop, Star Trek (any star trek movie and yes there is more than one!), Stargate (the original with James Spacer), Tron, Terminator, Logan’s Run, Soilent Green, The Day the Earth Stood Still ( original is better!), War of the Worlds, Star Wars, Matrix, just to name a few. I got a book for Chirstmas with sci-fi films you must see ( 101 sc-fi film you must see before you die)

Everyone should have some sort of game console, Wii, Xbox, Playstation. I have all 3, I still wonder why I do. Invite your friends around for a game or two. But if you dont want to play video games or dont have a console, you can always play board games. Once a month Justin and I host a board game night, some of our favourite are Scrabble, Bloderdash, Pictionary Man, tipayatounge. They are loads of fun.

Last one, go out to some where education and fun, like the Muesum or to Art Gallary, or even Imax. Here in Melboure we have Scince Works, which is loads of fun, (science works)

Movie Review: Kick Ass!

We went to see the movie Kick Ass, and the movie does live to it’s title. I really enjoy the movie.

I really did like Hit Girl – she saves the day!

There lots of killing, blood, and guts! This was cross between Kill Bill, Sin City, and Spiderman.

Supanova: Australia answer to Comicon!

A week ago, Justin and I went with a couple of our friends to Supanova.It was loads of fun, we got to see Spike from Buffy, and Karl Urban, and stayed the hell away from Twilight (evil, evil!)

There was lots of Cosplay players, and heaps of comic books. I was like a kid in a candy store:

All the Star Wars guys, they look great!

Batman was so tall, and I fell in love the HarleyQuin’s they pulled off the costumes so well!

Boy, oh boy…. Justin was a very happy man when her meet Silk Spectre.

The Mad Hatter, explain that he got into the movie for free dress like that, 3 times! Legend!

This dress as Thor, it too a while for him and I to explain to Justin who he was.

Dear Next Girlfriend….

When I was 17, my mum took me to a fortune teller. Don’t ask why, but it was interesting to go.

What the Fortune Teller told me was:

My life and career would start at the age of 26 ( did happen!)
This is my 3rd time on Earth ( yes your are welcome to laugh, becuase I still do)
That I’ll will still have something to do with Multimedia but not what i wanted (which is true)
And the last thing which I still wondering about….. That I’ll be married twice.

This is joke around with Justin all the time and tell him everytime he does silly stuff I’ll tell his next girlfriend.
I dout I’ll get married a second time. Everyone wants thier first marriage to last long, but I am interested to find out if the Fortune Teller was true or not.

BUT…

If things dont work out, I always promise Justin to write a letter to his next girlfriend about him:

Dear The Next Girl for Justin;
In the many years with Justin, I have learnt many things about Justin that were great, irrating, and loving. Let me explain a few things about him; when you first meet him, you would have notice that he is a shy kinda of guy. He would studder or trip over his words when he talks to you. This never goes away once he is use of you.
Be careful, but I may have change this, he is a cheap guy, so if you like to cheap eats thats what you will get, and you will also have to begg him to get you suprise presents, he never thinks of these things nor is he is good at suprises. Another thing is he doesnt know Melbourne very well, so if you plan something make sure you show him the maps first.
We moved in together early in our relationships, and I have learnt some interesting things about Justin, first he is a very, very light sleeper. He wears a mask and ear plugs, and even with these still you cant have a window open or any sort of light in the room. Also I hope you like only little bits of blanket and little bit of bed becuase he also like to spread out on the bed. This becomes easy to handle, push keep pushing him off the bed and he will learn.
Justin as a person, is hard to get your head around at times. If you are in a hurry, never count on Justin to be ready on time, he a type of person that will get ready in his own time. He an engineer, but you can’t count on him to do housework, or be handy around the house. To get him to do stuff, tell him his mother is coming around or take away the computer and internet and hide them in good places, this would finally make him do stuff. The old trick of witholding sex until he does things around the house never works with Justin, he see that as a challange, not as a threat.
Sometimes it is hard to talk to Justin at times, he does go around in circles. He always ask qustions alot. If you place very great details into your conversation, he will still ask the question that you already answered in your detailed conversation. This is what I found so annoying!
one quick one, his mother is his kryptonyte.
There are some great things about Justin, he loves to hug and loves to touch. You never complain about the less touching, becuase he always wants to touch. He always follows you around until he gets his hugs. The bad side of this is he doesn’t understand personal space and how sometimes you like to be alone.

Some of these may be fix by the time you get to read this.
I’ll leave you with some words; Justin is still a kind, gentle, and free minded person. You will be happy with him. And forget you will get lots of cuddles!

Canberra

After Christmas, Justin and I went to Shepparton for Boxing day to see the rest of my family.

This is my family. We had a great time, lots more yummy food and didn’t pig out, this time I did get some of mum’s trifle. I got from my aunt the second series of the old gen Star Trek.
The next day we continue our journy to Canberra. The reson why we went went is Justin’s family live there.

Our first stop along the way was Glenrowa: Where Ned Kelly’s final battle was.

We finally got to Canberra, We were tired but we share Christmas presents:

The first day we went to try and find some observatories. We found 2 that are still around. One we went on the last day at the space center, and the other one was burnt down in 2003.

The next day we went to the Mint. The mint is a great place to go to. Free to enter and you get to see how money is made. Sorry no free samples.

We also we went to Australian Institut of Sport. This place is great, its where you will find all of our Olpymic champians train.

We spend New Years in Canberra, not really that fun, but there are some great places to see the fireworks.

We finally left, which I was happy, I was sick and the weather wasn’t making it happening for me. We travel down by the coast. We went to Mogo Zoo, and spent the night at Batesman Bay.

Canberra is an OK place, there is lots to do and most of it is for free. If you ever want to go, here is some websites that will help you plan your trip:

Happy Christmas everyone

I know, we are in the middle of January, but I just got back from my trip to Canberra which I’ll post a little later on.

Christmas, was at my parents house in Drouin ( in victoria, australia; google it and you will see!) We went on the 24th and stayed the night.
We got up early as always and open our Christmas presents:

This was in my sack. You can see i got Dirty Dacing on DVD. and more hand towels ( this is a running joke with mum, she always gets them for us becuase she thinks we have none. one year she got me 20 of them!)
These were all the presents under our tree. Yes, I know the tree is small, but it makes it look like we got heaps of presents.
This was from dad. Its so cool, we played with this for ages. It came with a black cover that you put on the back and it makes eletric hand prints.
This is from Justin, ‘Never Mind the Bullocks’ by Dr Karl. This is a great book to read, I have almost finished it.
This one is funny. Mum goes to me, ‘here some money and go and get yourself a present, and give it back to me so I can give it to you on Christmas’ so I went out and got Simpsons Scence it? We played this game after lunch, and my sister thought she was the biggest Simpsons fan, but I won the game.
Another one from Justin. I love my sci fi movies, I havent gone though this book as yet, but i think i have seen about 50 movies of it.
This one from Cheryl and mum. I finally have my own copy of Star Wars. It makes sence seems I have alot of Star Wars collectables around the house.
This one from Cheryl. This one of my all time favorite movies. Still haven’t seen it yet, becuase Justin doesn’t like it.

Lunch was soooooo Yummy. Mum got the most freshes Prawns and I couldnt stop eating them. The salads were yummy and filling. I kept my promise and nver pigged out and I never got a chance to have any trifle, which i was pissed off about.

Book Review: The Naked Jape!

As you can see, I got a book for my birthday. This book is called ‘The Naked Jape‘ and it is by Jimmy Carr and Lucy Greeves. My friend Marylou got it for me, becuase she just found out that I am a big Jimmy Carr fan. Yes, I do love him, and have being practising my afternoon tea elegannces, so one day I’ll will have afternoon tea with him! ( it’s on my things to do before I die list!)

We both thought it was book mostly full of jokes to tell your friends, but as I read though the book, it was more than that.
I have always been a fan of stand up comedy and wish that I could do it, but something about performing infront of a people kinda scares me, but in front of a camera I can handle that. This book was more than just jokes, It explain about how jokes work, what made us laugh, when is the best time to tell jokes, and famous comdians who did comedy for the shot value. I really got into the book and leant more about stand up comdey than I ever thought i would by just watching it.

My favorite moments in the book, was the chapter about kids jokes. I remember as a kid I use to like making other kids laugh at times, and reading this chapter brought back some child hood jokes we use to tell each other. But the chapter was more than kids joke, explain why kids love to tell joke and love to hear jokes, it also explain why kids LOVE dirty jokes, and why they repeat them to each other and to the next generation of kids.
Another favorite moment of the book is some of the religulous jokes. This chapter is not about Christan picking on the Jews, it’s more they are picking on themselves, the Jews telling jokes about themselves and Christians telling jokes about themselves. Some of the jokes in this chapter were really funny.
And the last thing about this book, is the jokes never stopped, on each page on the bottom there was a joke. It would of be either a famous joke that everyone has heard and still get a good giggle out of it, or it would be a joke made by a famous comedian, which also got a good giggle out of it.

If you ever think of becoming a comedian, stand up or/and actor, I highly recommend this book to read first before making a decision on becoming a comedian. There is even a chapter about the hard work that does go into comedy, and how every comedian recommends you not to do it unless you want to put in the hard work for it.

NOW, go out and get the book!

I love this episode becuase it reminds me of me when i was kid, trying to gross out my friends. This episode stars Sara Gilbert ( from Roseann and The Big Bang Theory)
6. WHO NEEDS A KWIK – E – MART – season 5 episode 10 – this episode is great, I love they only get 3 questions, but in the end Apu still gets his Kwik – E – Mart back.
5. Lisa dates Nelson – in season 8 – I found this one cute on how Lisa thinks she can change Nelson
4.The Xfiles one – this one is so funny, i love how they make fun of X files and other Sci Fi tv shows too.
3. when they go to New York City - the only reason I like this one is because when Homer is young, he looks like my dad.
2. Skinner and Edna gets married – season 15- well not really she couldnt go though it. I love this one because she almost marries the comic book guy, but she breaks up with him, ‘it’s like your marvel and i’m DC’ oh that line has help me break up with a few guys in my life.
1. and my favorite episode will the one where marge starts her own gym – season 19. this is a great episode, it guess stars Allan Moore the writer to the Watchmen and Jack Black. There are other funny moments where there is secne from the video clip from OkGo. And heaps of joke about the comic book guy.

The Simpsons will still be my top watch tv show.

I Losing It…

Justin showed me picture he took when we went to the beach the other day. I was so surprise to see that Justin took a great pic of me, but also to see that my belly slowly going down.

This is me in Dec of 07

Then i join Jenny Craig. Personally I didn’t like it, I stuck at it for a year, but fell depress on their food. I did learn from them. I did learn to keep my meals small and only have 3 main meals and 2 snacks for the day, I now pick fruit over candy, and when we go out, I pick fish dishes or salads. I stop because I got depress eating their food, it make me abscess on food, and make me scared of eating food outside the program. I need to get myself off their food, and i started to teach myself how I don’t need some health food program and pay $1000 for. I tought myself how to make salads and what to eat.
I meet my new friend, MaryLou, who was in the same boat as me. She has become an inspiration for me, and gives me an idea on what my body and my health would be like too. She has show me other ways of eating and other alternative to eat, as for example; eating dates for a bit of a sugar kick and so on.

even tho I am eating fish and chips, but this is me taken 2 weeks ago. You can see still have a little belly, but I can see there has been inches taken off. ( just a couple, but there is a difference)

there is only a couple more day until Christmas, I have taught myself how to be good when it comes to food. everyone says its the silly season and go nuts with the food, but in the long run, not true. I will try and have a taste of everything that my mum will cook but there no need to go overboard with the eating. i do LOVE seafood, so therefore I will sick mostly to that. My mum makes the best salads and she is a home eco teacher she knows what salads are healthy and which aren’t. I will have some sweets only one bowl full, mum makes trifle, it has lots of fruit and jelly and cream in it.

For my new years resolution, I have a few…..
1. I decide I will go vegetarian, but will only eat fish, but have red meat once a month.
2. I suffer from Dyslexia, and have spent 5 years teaching myself to read again, and now I love to read. This time round, I want to teach myself maths again.
3. there was a third but cant remember what it was!

Child Hood Books

Justin and I went to see ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ the other day.
My knowlege of the book, it was about a kid name Max who imagine a place where he could be wild as much as he can. The book doesn’t have much dialoge but it shows lots of interesting pictures and monsters. As I went to movie to see this, I was hoping to see this movie in a kids eyes and wanting to see lots of wild things to happen. I guess its very hard to streach out an 10 page book into an hour and half movie.

There was alot of wild things happen in this movie, but there was also loads of hidden messages in the film, like how to play nice, how things you say and do can hurt people, and soooo on. It look more like serious theatre sports and make it up as we go along in puppet suits kinda movie. Jim Henson would made apeeling to the kids. It wasn’t to the story at all, the monster and costumes were. But in the secnes I wouldnt mind seeing it again, this time bring the tissues, there were alot of sad moments in the movie, and few moments you have to explain to your kids (when they made Max king, watch out there a bit in there which not really for kids eyes, oh and there is a secne where two of the monsters make out!)

After watching, Justin and I started talking about our favorite child hood books we love to read as a kid.

One book, I still have around the house I my most rememberable book, The Beast in the Bathtub. I still love this story.

Its about a boy who doesn’t like baths beacuse there is a beast in the tub. His mother tells him to take a bath, and find out the beast that lives there, is a friendly guy. They get up to some mischif and start getting read for bed. The boy and the beast become best friends and beast now lives under his bed.
I guess that’s why I was never afraid of monsters under my bed, and explain why I love the movie Monster Inc so much.

Justin pick his favorite book from when he was a kid: Mr Archimedes’ Bath

I remember reading this as a kid but I cant remember what happen.
Here is a reviewer said about it:
His bath always overflowed and he was tired of cleaning up the mess so he made an effort to find out why.

He put a little bit of water in as he always did, but this time he measured the depth of it. Again the water rose when they all got in and not one of them took responsibility for it.

When they all got our, Mr Archimedes, measured the water again and was puzzled by the fact that the water level had in fact gone down.

So he ordered the kangaroo to stay out but the water still rose. This went on until he ordered each one of the animals to take it in turns to stay out but each time the same thing happened.

When he went in the bath himself the water rose but when he got out and measured the depth it had stayed the same. So excited by this he jumped in and out to make the water go up and down…………..
“EUREKA, I’ve found it …………….WE make the water go up. There are just too many of us in the bath, that’s all!” shouted Mr Archimedes.

So in other words this is an education book, without the kid realizing it is. Thats right, get into science now while they are still young!

Our conversation keep going on other child hood book I remember, the next one I remember my cousin having this book and my uncle reading it to us each night to bed as kids, The Little Mouse, The Big Ripe Strawberry, and Hungry Bear.

This one is about a little mouse to grows their own strawberry, but the big hunrgy bear wants to eat it. The mouse tries everything to keep it away from the hungry bear and ends up eating it them self. I thought this book was great, becuase the story was read, is was like to you are telling the mouse what to do with the strawberry. The kids would loves this one.
Trying to explain this story to Justin kept making him hungry.

There was also another one that keep coming up in our conversations, was the Grug series.

As a kid I thought Grug was way cooler than Mr Men ( when I was a kid there was only Mr Men no Little Misses)
He is base on the Yowie, or like Big Foot and he life in the bushes ( as in tree bushes, not the other kind!)

The last book or series of books I love is the Dr Suess books:

I was 21 when I was told that am dyslexic. I hate to know that, but explains why all my teacher were telling me I was slow. I decided to over come this and re teach myself how to read again. Its not easy, but I got there in the end, and I read all the time, I have heaps of books now. I use Dr Suess books to re teach myself to read, it look less daggier on the train reading Dr Seuss than reading Spot. And fell I love with the nonsence stories that came out of the books. Even tho they were in ryhme, but they also flow together and couldn’t wait to turn the next page to find what going to happen next. Then after reading Dr Suess I turn to comic books, to learn more adult words and style of writing too. I think I have over come my Dyslexia, but not sure…. now and then I miss spelling mistakes or gramma mistakes but I am still learning.

If anyone has favorite child hood they want to share tell me…….

I Have Many Tees!

I am not a person who is into fashion, I really don’t care what my labels are as long as they look really good on me. I don’t wear dress very often, but I did get a new one the other and it looks great on me.
I not much of a suit person, I dont understand why I need to wear a suit to work every day, nobody going to see me, and I am not going out to the a fancy dinner afterwards.
Lucky for me, I work in a job wear I can whatever I want and lucky for me I am a t shirt kinda girl.

I never thought that I would be collecting tees, but the other I found myself sitting my bedroom realizing 2 options:
1. either I go though my tee and find the ones I love and put them in my tall boy to wear for days to come, or
2. I go out and buy another tall boy.
The answer was so simple; start sneaking most of my tee into Justin’s side of the tall boy and hope and prey he doesnt notice!

Being a Geek, I really like maths and science, so these day alot of my tees have alot of maths and science jokes on them. ( thank you BIG BANG for making geek cool again!) I was always told at school I suck at both, and will never become an astronut I meant astronaut. And then getting told by your love ones, that they dont let Australians in space ( correction love ones, there has been 7 Australians and 1 was a female have been into outer space!) I would love to prove them wrong, so I am re teaching myself math and science and have taken up astronomy as a hobby. Its loads of fun!

tshirtbooth.com - I have got 3 tees from these guys, the tees are in very good quility, but I did find it slow to deliver. The site said for around the world 5 to 8 days, I got mine in 4 weeks. I would buy again from them, because the tees look great, but it wont be in a hurry.

teenormous.com - I havent got any of my tee form here…..yet, I am still looking around. But there are some really great design on this site.

cafepress.com.au – Again haven’t got anything from here as yet, but going though the tee, and again have some really great design. Maybe need to wait for my next pay cheque

thinkgeek.com - Now I got my Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard and Spock tee from this web site, I have seen so many other version so far, and I still think mine one rocks better, I also got my Pi top too, another one I love. This web site just doesnt sell tees, they sell all sorts of geek stuff. I really reckon you need to check it out!

threadless.com – This was a site a mate at work told me about, I got 2 of my top from here. there are some good designs, but not many there that I like.

Places To Eat.

OK, Justin begged me to blogg this, seems we eat out quite a bit.

I am going to share some of my favtorite places around Melbourne to eat. Some places are healthy to eat at, and of course everywhere we go there going to vegartian menus. i am not vegetarian but sometime its fun to pretend to be one, espically at weddings or on airplanes.

My first pick would be Dumpling King, in Box Hill.
This place was one of my Grandpa’s favorite places. He took my sister and I there and we both have fell in love it. They have been label in melbourne that place with the best dumplings, and they aren’t wrong there. My favorite dumplings would the 4 seasons vegitables, pork fried dumplings, and chicken ones. Most of the time I go their with my sister and she orders the dumplings. We also order some main meals too. We always get the duck, steamed veggies with garlic sauce, speical rice, fried calamari which I have to say is the best calamari I have ever eaten, and chicken with cashews.

For my second choice would have to be this little Japanese place in Konx call Sakura house. Now I have only been here once but I still love it as my second choice.
They have set menus to pick from,and you end getting about 6 or 7 meals in one seat. All the meals are so yummy and you wont go home hungry. The best thing about this place, it the green tea ice cream….. This was the frist time I have ever tried it. And if you like ice cream you need to try this, its the best!

The third place I love is in South Melbourne is call Noodle World, went their for dinner last night and love it. It’s MSG free Asian food and really cheap. I use to live in South Melbourne and everytime I felt like some take out I went there to some food. My favorite their is number 13, it a singapore dish with lots of veggies and noddles with a bit of spice to it. Dont ask what its call just go their and try it.

As you can see I love Asian food!

There are a few other place that I love.

Grill’d - If you want to get a great buger and chips. The best is the Mighty Melbourne, well thats what Justin says! My favorite is the Baa Baa Lamb bruger. There are veggie burgers and vegetarian burgers too. Check the site to find your closes one.

Tropicana – This place is in the city, and is the best place to go if you want a quick sandwich and a juice or smoothie. The smoothies are to dye for, and they will make it to suit your flavor or diet. Its also a great place if you short on cash. You can get a chicken sandwich with smoothie for only $8! Most place will get it ofr $10 to $12. The people are friendly and you cant miss this place it has whole bunch of oranges at the front. They also do breakfast, which is also yum and cheap!

Taco Bill - I do love mexican food, were as Justin not to fond of it. There is 2 place we go to one is call Salsa which is in Knox and we also go to Taco Bill. In Amercia they call it Taco Bell. I really do have a favorite off the menu but you must go for the Magritas, a Magrita in every flavor.

Lord of the Fries – This is suprisely helthy for you. They cut their own chips and bake them, and the burgers they have is vegan, no meat in them. The best thing about this place is you get to pick your own sauce to go on top of your fries. Very filling. So far I can only find 2 locations, and both at flinders street station in melbourne. While your there you can pick up a jumper or a t shirt.

But there is nothing great than home cook meal. I love to learn to cook other meals (tho I have proven that I can burn water!), so far my favorite at home is Green Curry Chicken:

What I do with this one is, I buy a BBQ chicken from Coles or Safeway or whatever butcher or supermarket.
Strip the chicken ( sorry guys this one doesnt take $1 bills!) and place it in to a pan.
I boil some water place it in a big mixing bowl and add noodles of any type.
Place a bag or 2 of frozen veggies into the mircowave and cut up some Bok Choy.
Then I mix a green curry paste, I use about a 1 tablespoon full with a big can of Coconut Milk. I found that full cream Coconut Milk tastes better than lite.
Once the veggie are done, I place them in the pan with chicken and the Bok Choy as well, make sure the stove is on, then pour the cocnut milk mix on top.
Let it simmer for a bit and sort out the noodles.
Place the noodle on to plates then the curry on top with lots of suace, and eat.
This is one of Justin favorites that I cook for him.

2012: Is It Really The End?

Last night, went to the movies to see 2012. I wanted to see how would we servive if the world did end.

We got the movies, and it was a sell out film ( well dar, michelle!) we went out for dinner first, then to the movies! I am just setting the mood for you guys. We sat 4 rows down from the back and on the side. We were the frist in the cenima, then watched everyone else come in.

The movie went to 3 hours, too bad if you need to pee at anytime. ( that was a star trek movie moment just then!)
The movie got into the story plot very quick, and justin and I spent most of the time sitting and referancing sence they had stole from other movies and tv shows. As a graphic art and CG teacher, the CG in this film was really great, but it kinda ruine it for myself, becuase I can tell what’s computer and what’s real. (again, dar!)

After seeing this film it make me think. If the end of the world is coming? Was the MAYA people correct is the end of the world on 12.21.12? (almost looks like a dislyxic brindary) or is the crazy nut in texas with lots of follower clamming he know when the end of the world is, is right? or is my crazy aunt, who is in the corner munching on her teeth right?

The MAYAN’s have said that there is something is going to happen in 2012 that may have affect of human race. The thing that stands out is SOMETHING. They never said the world will blow up, everyone will suddenly die for something, they just said something will happen.

But I am only one person, as far we know something could happen, or it was away for the MAYANS to scare kids into doing thier chores!

After seeing the movie, my best judgement is that if you not rich or famous, you are going to be doomed! Like most disaster movies, people have to die and people have to live, and always the hero of the story lives, I like to see one where he dies!
This movie would be one that Mel Gibson would like too, there is a moral to the story and there was also a bit of the bible place in the movie. Not telling what story from the bible, you have to see it for yourself. The moral of this story is that when the world is going though its disaters, Mount Everest is the safiest place on earth. Dont ask just why, go and see!

My movie rating for this film is 4 out 5 stars, like it but still wasn’t believable!

My Birthday party!

I have to amitt to something today,
I think I have had the best Birthday so far, and got the coolest presents from my family and friends. I had a birthday party on the 31st of Oct, and no sorry no Hallween this time around. We went to a place in Box Hill called Dumplin King. They make the most yummiest dumplins around.
Marylou (regisfilia) and I stuck to the Vegatrian stuff, only becuase she was a little worried about the food. LOL
By the end of the night, she walked out saying, ‘the food there was sooooo YUMMY!’ ( she always good for a laugh!)

Since I was 16 years old, I have been fascinated in animation. I really wanted to become and animatior and have my own tv show. But as always the universe doesn’t work out that way. I still do animations and drawings. I love to draw, I am not the best at it…. I like a Napoleon Dynamite at drawing.

It Was My Birthday

Yesterday it was my birthday, and I turned 26…. only 4 more years until I am 30. That scares me!

which has a Star Wars Exhibition and a PLANETARIUM. the planetarium was the best…. made me feel i was back home with my parents, lying ing the backyard and watching the stars.

Get Your Geek On, Thursday!

Today is Thursday!

Only one more day until the weekend!

Thursday is the second geek night on TV.

First, is Glee – in high school I was never in Glee Club. I couldn’t sing! I was in the AV club and the Computer club too, but you never see a TV show about them…. or maybe?

Justin loves Glee, I think he like to sing and dance. This show is fun and uplifting and can’t wait to get the DVD. ( must watch it!)

Second, Beauty and the Geek Australia – another show that I love. Too bad they don’t let girl geeks on, becuase I’ll on the show so fast! and the geeks are so cute too! my favorite so far is Nathan – we are both comic book collectors and both are school teachers!

Third, is Amazing Race. I have been watching this show since I was a teenager. I really want to go this show, not get famous or anything like, but just to travel around the world, the rush you get from the race! don’t have favorites as yet, just started.

Good Bye My Little Xbox!

Today, I said goodbye to my classic Xbox. I traded her in for a Xbox 360.

I got the classic Xbox about 6 or 7 years ago, when I was just finishing high school. And she was my first, I thought i had the best games with her, i had some car racing games, some first person shooter and of course my favorite one STAR WARS LEGO!

It took me 2 years to finally make the leap and trade her in, becuase she was my first. After hearing so many stories and having my firends laugh at me for keeping her, they dont make games for classic Xbox and everyone keep telling that once you gone 360, you can never go back…. so I got my 360 in black!

I got the new batman game for the 360….

But I am so exicted about it…. I cant wait to play and have it all set up!

But if Justin (the boyfirend) ask about, say I won it in a prize!

Today, I have no classes. In a teacher’s mind they are thinking great, I can do whatever I want! In my mind, I am bored! lol

Today in Melbourne, it’s 27c, the first hot day after weeks of weeks of rain. It’s great, we are filling up our dams and saving water for the future, but I was kinda of hoping to see if we really do get turn into Solent Green!

So, to entertain me for a bit until I go out with my boyfriend ( he promise to take me to my favorite comic book shop this afternoon), I got into a dress ( I know, it scares me that the wind can blow it up!) and started taking random photos of myself and around the house.

Hello There,

Welcome to my blog. I am DVDA STARR.

You all wondering what it stands for, when I was 16, I thought it was fun to say DVDA, it wasn’t until a mate told me its a porn postion; Double Vigna Double Anal. Now, no I am not a pornstar, but at the age of 16 I thought it was cool. I also like the band which is cal DVDA too.

About me;

I live in Melbourne, I have always lived in Melbourne, I know where everything is and yes you need to pack for 4 seasons, becuase we do get 4 seans in the one day.

I work as a school teacher, teaching computer studies and multimedia. But I teach at a college, not high school.

I am also a GEEK, and I love being a geek, and love all things geeky. I read comic books ( Batman is my fave), I have 4 console ( I still my classic Xbox is the best, only i have some great old school games on it), and I wear glasses ( LOL, had to throw that one in!)

As my blog keeps growing you see my out geek in them.
