DVD Review: coupling

Coupling is about a guy and his best friend and his ex and an girl with her best friend and her ex, and they all become friends. It is also about how a relationship starts and ends and all the fun stuff in the middle. There is only 4 seasons to the series and the last season all about marriage and having babies.

This show is funny in the sense of how it is filmed. Its not a strage sic com, they also show different sides of each story, and put yourself in the shoes of the viewer. The way it is also written, with the jokes and relationship rules. More or less its british answer to how i met your mother, but was made 5 years before it.

I do recommend it to watch, and you be laughing soon.

DVD Review: V the Original Series

finished watching the original series of V. This is a really good series, complete with 80′s style of special effects.

It is all about an Alien race come to earth and pretends to be friends with the humans, but they are there for more. A leak into the media leads all scientist to be band or killed, so most go into hiding.

It’s a good series to watch.

DVD Review: Harvey Birdman

I found this show but accident a few years ago.

Harvey Birdman: attorney at Law is a cartoon series done by Hanna-Barra, those guys who did The Flintstones and others.

Harvey Birdman was an old cartoon series, which was called Birdman, which I am still watching.

The show is about Harvey Birdman and his court cases using old Hanna-Barra cartoon characters, and creating new characters.

DVD Review: Futurama seasons 1-4

Futurama would have to be one of my favourite cartoon shows.

I remember when it came out in 2000 (it did in Australia), and watch it every night. At the time I was working in a pizza place myself and lost my job from watching too much Futurama.

For those who never seen the series, (which means you have been living in a cave!) it is about a guy named Fry living in New York City and was working as a Pizza Delivery Boy. He was a bit of a loser. When he went on a fake delivery, he accidentally freezes himself. When unfreeze he was waken to the year 3000. He meets Leela, Bender, and others.

The show is very clever with the humor, and it feel of 1950′s future feel to it as well.

If you like The Simpsons, then of course you are going to like futurama.

I heard that Futurama is now on Comdey Central….. with new episodes. We haven’t got it yet in Australia, but I have heard some many good stories about the new seasons.

DVD Review: Kenny vs Spenny season 1

If you like Jackass, and basic TV shows, or watching 2 best friends turn into worst enemies, Then you need to start watching Kenny vs Spenny.

Set in Canada, its about 2 best friends/room mates who do competitions between each other. One likes to cheat and the other wants thing played by the rules. Who ever wins gets to pick ahumiliation for the loser, and these can be funnier than the competition.

DVD Review: South Park season 10

Finished watching south season 10, for some reason I have been watching south park backwards.

This season was good, it has the world of warcraft episode, and hell on earth, which this episode was banned in Australia for a while, then fans asked for it.

There is alot of 2 parters episodes, like the frozen in time, and the family guy episode.

This was good season, not my favourire season but it was good

DVD Review: American Dad season 4

It’s taking a while for American Dad to get up to season 5.

I enjoy this season.

In this season you see tearjerker, the king of spring break, oliver north, and ends with a christmas speical.

DVD Review: District 9

I was surprised with this film.

I wasn’t really into this film when it first came out, Justin bought it over one night and made me watch it, and to my surprise it was really good.

The movie is about aliens who landed in Johannesburg in 1982.  No one why they are there, or what they want, for 20 odd years, they left them in the slums. Wikus get promoted to the head of the relocation, and goes to the District 9 to relocated the “pawns” to District 10 which is cleaner and gives them houses.

As Wikus goes around trying to get the pawns to move, he discovers a capsule, which get him into trouble.

This movie has half moc-doc and film, but it’s not confusing and easy to follow.

DVD Review: Avatar

Why did James Cameron name it Avatar?

that always puzzled me.

Avatar is one of the great movies I have on dvd. I really enjoyed the movie, but only got the basic dvd version, becuase it was cheap!

This movie is about a planet call Pandora, where the RDA Corporation is mining for unobtanium. The planet is inhabited with a race called Na’vi, whci are 10 foot tall blue people with strange ponytails.

Corporal Jake Sully was offered a job on Pandora after his brother was killed in action, because they both have the same DNA (well dar!) He meet with Dr. Grace Augustine, who was studying the Na’vi people and believed the RDA mining was hurting them. Jake Sully became one of the Na’vi who learns their ways of life. Jake finds himself fighting for the Na’vi’s to save thier home and planet.

The effect in this films are amazing, it show we have come long way with effects. This movie does have a feel good and make you think abit about our own world.

 

DVD Review: 10 things I hate about you

Old movie!

My mum loves this film, for some reason, but this one is a classic.

basic on Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew”, it is about 2 sisters who arent allow to date. When one sister decides to pay the school’s outcast to date her sister so she can go out to the prom. She never thought her sister would fall inlove with the school’s outcast.

this movie also brought out Heath Ledgar, who was the school’s outcast.

I enjoy watching this film each time I watch it. It’s not in my favourite list, but is one of those feel good movies to just put on.
