I have a pet DINOSAUR!!!!

Went out yesturday with my sister and we went to Toys ‘R’ Us, and we found baby Dinosaurs.

He moves when you wave to it, or push his buttons.

I still don’t have a name for him yet, tell me if you know a good name for him.

He is too cute!

Geek Pride Day!

Happy Geek Pride Day!

Now this is a holiday that I can be proud of….

How to celebrate this holiday is to be a geek. If you don’t know how to be one, here is a list of ideas you can do:

• Find your local comic book store, and find a comic book that opens your eyes. Find a comic book, that you will love to read. Some of my favourite comic books would be Batman, Sandman, The Spirit, Transmetropolitan, Green Lantian, Superman, Wonder Woman, and even Xmen. If want something that take a little longer than 5 mins to read, then get V for Vandentta, Watchmen, Sin City, but if you want Manga, Mega Toyko, or you dont want to leave the house try Cad-comics (http://www.cad-comic.com) These are most of the comic books in my house!

• Go to you local video/dvd store – science ficton moives are great! Have a sicence fiction marathon. Some of my favourites will be;  Aeon Flux, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, Robocop, Star Trek (any star trek movie and yes there is more than one!), Stargate (the original with James Spacer), Tron, Terminator, Logan’s Run, Soilent Green, The Day the Earth Stood Still ( original is better!), War of the Worlds, Star Wars, Matrix, just to name a few. I got a book for Chirstmas with sci-fi films you must see ( 101 sc-fi film you must see before you die)

• Everyone should have some sort of game console, Wii, Xbox, Playstation. I have all 3, I still wonder why I do. Invite your friends around for a game or two. But if you dont want to play video games or dont have a console, you can always play board games. Once a month Justin and I host a board game night, some of our favourite are Scrabble, Bloderdash, Pictionary Man, tipayatounge. They are loads of fun.

• Last one, go out to some where education and fun, like the Muesum or to Art Gallary, or even Imax. Here in Melboure we have Scince Works, which is loads of fun, (science works)

After reading this, I realize that I’m the Nerd! I am more academically inclined, but then again I do have a super-passion about my hobbies!

Book Review: The Naked Jape!

As you can see, I got a book for my birthday. This book is called ‘The Naked Jape‘ and it is by Jimmy Carr and Lucy Greeves. My friend Marylou got it for me, becuase she just found out that I am a big Jimmy Carr fan. Yes, I do love him, and have being practising my afternoon tea elegannces, so one day I’ll will have afternoon tea with him! ( it’s on my things to do before I die list!)

We both thought it was book mostly full of jokes to tell your friends, but as I read though the book, it was more than that.
I have always been a fan of stand up comedy and wish that I could do it, but something about performing infront of a people kinda scares me, but in front of a camera I can handle that. This book was more than just jokes, It explain about how jokes work, what made us laugh, when is the best time to tell jokes, and famous comdians who did comedy for the shot value. I really got into the book and leant more about stand up comdey than I ever thought i would by just watching it.

My favorite moments in the book, was the chapter about kids jokes. I remember as a kid I use to like making other kids laugh at times, and reading this chapter brought back some child hood jokes we use to tell each other. But the chapter was more than kids joke, explain why kids love to tell joke and love to hear jokes, it also explain why kids LOVE dirty jokes, and why they repeat them to each other and to the next generation of kids.
Another favorite moment of the book is some of the religulous jokes. This chapter is not about Christan picking on the Jews, it’s more they are picking on themselves, the Jews telling jokes about themselves and Christians telling jokes about themselves. Some of the jokes in this chapter were really funny.
And the last thing about this book, is the jokes never stopped, on each page on the bottom there was a joke. It would of be either a famous joke that everyone has heard and still get a good giggle out of it, or it would be a joke made by a famous comedian, which also got a good giggle out of it.

If you ever think of becoming a comedian, stand up or/and actor, I highly recommend this book to read first before making a decision on becoming a comedian. There is even a chapter about the hard work that does go into comedy, and how every comedian recommends you not to do it unless you want to put in the hard work for it.

I Have Many Tees!

I am not a person who is into fashion, I really don’t care what my labels are as long as they look really good on me. I don’t wear dress very often, but I did get a new one the other and it looks great on me.
I not much of a suit person, I dont understand why I need to wear a suit to work every day, nobody going to see me, and I am not going out to the a fancy dinner afterwards.
Lucky for me, I work in a job wear I can whatever I want and lucky for me I am a t shirt kinda girl.

I never thought that I would be collecting tees, but the other I found myself sitting my bedroom realizing 2 options:
1. either I go though my tee and find the ones I love and put them in my tall boy to wear for days to come, or
2. I go out and buy another tall boy.
The answer was so simple; start sneaking most of my tee into Justin’s side of the tall boy and hope and prey he doesnt notice!

Being a Geek, I really like maths and science, so these day alot of my tees have alot of maths and science jokes on them. ( thank you BIG BANG for making geek cool again!) I was always told at school I suck at both, and will never become an astronut I meant astronaut. And then getting told by your love ones, that they dont let Australians in space ( correction love ones, there has been 7 Australians and 1 was a female have been into outer space!) I would love to prove them wrong, so I am re teaching myself math and science and have taken up astronomy as a hobby. Its loads of fun!

tshirtbooth.com - I have got 3 tees from these guys, the tees are in very good quility, but I did find it slow to deliver. The site said for around the world 5 to 8 days, I got mine in 4 weeks. I would buy again from them, because the tees look great, but it wont be in a hurry.

teenormous.com - I havent got any of my tee form here…..yet, I am still looking around. But there are some really great design on this site.

cafepress.com.au – Again haven’t got anything from here as yet, but going though the tee, and again have some really great design. Maybe need to wait for my next pay cheque

thinkgeek.com - Now I got my Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard and Spock tee from this web site, I have seen so many other version so far, and I still think mine one rocks better, I also got my Pi top too, another one I love. This web site just doesnt sell tees, they sell all sorts of geek stuff. I really reckon you need to check it out!

threadless.com – This was a site a mate at work told me about, I got 2 of my top from here. there are some good designs, but not many there that I like.

My Birthday party!

I have to amitt to something today,
I think I have had the best Birthday so far, and got the coolest presents from my family and friends. I had a birthday party on the 31st of Oct, and no sorry no Hallween this time around. We went to a place in Box Hill called Dumplin King. They make the most yummiest dumplins around.
Marylou (regisfilia)  and I stuck to the Vegatrian stuff, only becuase she was a little worried about the food. LOL
By the end of the night, she walked out saying, ‘the food there was sooooo YUMMY!’ ( she always good for a laugh!)

Get Your Geek On, Thursday!

Today is Thursday!

Only one more day until the weekend!

Thursday is the second geek night on TV.

First, is Glee – in high school I was never in Glee Club. I couldn’t sing! I was in the AV club and the Computer club too, but you never see a TV show about them…. or maybe?

Justin loves Glee, I think he like to sing and dance. This show is fun and uplifting and can’t wait to get the DVD. ( must watch it!)

Second, Beauty and the Geek Australia – another show that I love. Too bad they don’t let girl geeks on, becuase I’ll on the show so fast! and the geeks are so cute too! my favorite so far is Nathan – we are both comic book collectors and both are school teachers!

Third, is Amazing Race. I have been watching this show since I was a teenager. I really want to go this show, not get famous or anything like, but just to travel around the world, the rush you get from the race! don’t have favorites as yet, just started.

Good Bye My Little Xbox!

Today, I said goodbye to my classic Xbox. I traded her in for a Xbox 360.

I got the classic Xbox about 6 or 7 years ago, when I was just finishing high school. And she was my first, I thought i had the best games with her, i had some car racing games, some first person shooter and of course my favorite one STAR WARS LEGO!

It took me 2 years to finally make the leap and trade her in, becuase she was my first. After hearing so many stories and having my firends laugh at me for keeping her, they dont make games for classic Xbox and everyone keep telling that once you gone 360, you can never go back…. so I got my 360 in black!

I got the new batman game for the 360….

But I am so exicted about it…. I cant wait to play and have it all set up!

But if Justin (the boyfirend) ask about, say I won it in a prize!

RANDOM PHOTO DAY!!!!

Today, I have no classes. In a teacher’s mind they are thinking great, I can do whatever I want! In my mind, I am bored! lol

Today in Melbourne, it’s 27c, the first hot day after weeks of weeks of rain. It’s great, we are filling up our dams and saving water for the future, but I was kinda of hoping to see if we really do get turn into Solent Green!

So, to entertain me for a bit until I go out with my boyfriend ( he promise to take me to my favorite comic book shop this afternoon), I got into a dress ( I know, it scares me that the wind can blow it up!) and started taking random photos of myself and around the house.
